Simulation of Pouring

For most casting processes mold filling plays a predominant role regarding the quality of castings. Melt inflow conditions into the mold depend to a high degree on the pouring process. STAR-Cast allows to simulate precisely outflow from tilting crucibles, bottom tap crucibles or pouring spoons taking account of process parameters such as the tilting curve. This simulation technique is based on a fast and easy to use overset meshing approach. User defined monitoring planes serve to track the calculated mass flow or the cross section of the melt stream.
